Walk the Talk: The Health for All Challenge

As part of celebrations of the World Health Organization’s 70th anniversary in 2018, WHO is staging a major health promotion event in Geneva on the eve of the 71st World Health Assembly.

The free walk/run event, titled Walk the Talk: The Health for All Challenge, will be open to people of all ages and abilities and be held over three distances (short 3 kilometres, medium 5 kilometres and long 8 kilometres). These connected routes will build a bridge between “international” and “local” Geneva and Lac Leman by linking key health, international and touristic landmarks found in the city.

Other activities and interactive events will be located along the routes.

EY executive director sees blockchain as valuable problem-solving tool   Emerging tech can help speed insurance claim process. While blockchain is a big buzzword in the business world these days, EY executive director David Bassi says he doesn’t think about the hype around what it may be capable of doing someday, but instead considers blockchain as one more tool in his bag to solve issues now. “We’ve got this transformative technology. BLOCKCHAIN LAW INCREASES SECURITY FOR INVESTORS   Firms using blockchain technology in financial transactions now have legal certainty in Luxembourg after parliament passed a law on Thursday. Bill 7363 was intended to “provide financial market participants with legal certainty for the circulation of securities via blockchain technology”, the bill document reads, adding: “The bill should provide more security for investors and make the transfer of securities more efficient by reducing the number of intermediaries.” It was passed with 58 votes in favour and 2 against (Déi Lénk). The new legislation builds on the reform of the 1 August 2001 law on the circulation of securities, which in 2013 introduced the generalised possibility to issue dematerialised securities. It goes further in clarifying that securities may also be registered in an account and transferred using secure electronic registration mechanisms, in particular based on blockchain-type technologies...
