Is your browser slower than normal? Hackers could be mining Bitcoin on your computer without you ever knowing, warn experts

●      Networks and machines are being taken over in a process called cryptojacking
●      Computers are secretly put to use in mining cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin
●      Users may not even know its happened although devices may slow down
●      Among high profile targets was a public Wi-fi at a Starbucks in Buenos Aires

Over the past year, Bitcoin has seen its value increase by 1,000 per cent, so its perhaps unsurprising that its become an attractive target for hackers.
In a process called cryptojacking, cyber criminals are taking over networks and computers to put them to use in mining the cryptocurrency and others like it.
Among recent high profile targets was a public Wi-fi at a Starbucks, where suspicious code was found that turned visitors' devices into money makers for crooks.

Germany Follows Russia: Government To Outline Crypto Strategy By Mid-2019 The Cabinet of Germany has revealed that it will introduce a blockchain strategy for the country by mid-2019, which follows decisions by other countries, such as Russia, to introduce clear regulations on the validity and status of cryptocurrency in their respective countries. A document was released which outlined their intentions for the emerging digital asset class. The German Ministry of Finance and the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Energy will be designing the strategy, but other departments will also contribute to the regulatory framework. BLOCKCHAIN LAW INCREASES SECURITY FOR INVESTORS   Firms using blockchain technology in financial transactions now have legal certainty in Luxembourg after parliament passed a law on Thursday. Bill 7363 was intended to “provide financial market participants with legal certainty for the circulation of securities via blockchain technology”, the bill document reads, adding: “The bill should provide more security for investors and make the transfer of securities more efficient by reducing the number of intermediaries.” It was passed with 58 votes in favour and 2 against (Déi Lénk).
